COMPANY HISTORY

Diamond Rental is the Mountain West’s premier provider of rental solutions. From hand tools for a simple backyard project to backhoes and reach forklifts on a large job site; from the tables and chairs at a simple backyard party to the complex tents and structures of a large outdoor event - Diamond Rental is a company that takes great pride in providing customers with solutions. This was true from the company’s founding in 1979, as one equipment rental store in Salt Lake City, Utah. Over the following two decades, Diamond Rental grew to seven tool and equipment stores in the Salt Lake City area and one party, tent and event rental location, also inSalt Lake City.

In 2000, Diamond Rental was acquired by Rubicon Ventures, a private equity fund that had been organized in 1999 to find acquisition opportunities. The principals of Rubicon assumed management of Diamond Rental and worked with the Diamond Rental team to move the company forward on a new, more aggressive trajectory. Over the next two years, Diamond Rental added four tool and equipment rental locations, stretching the company’s reach outside Salt Lake City into the Ogden, ParkCity, and Tooele markets, while also establishing party, tent and event rental locations in Utah County and Boise, Idaho. Diamond Rental has become a regional rental company with diverse services including tool and equipment rental, party and tent rental, and convention and exposition services.
